The Borough of Califon is a lovely, small town bordering the south branch of the Raritan River. Califon features gorgeous, historic Victorian homes, mixed with newer neighborhoods. Nestled right in town are some fun shops, Rambo's Store featuring a deli and small market, and you can hop right on the Columbia Trail for some jogging, biking, dog walking, or horse riding, down to High Bridge or up into Washington Township, Morris County. Interestingly, Califon was originally called 'California' based on the excitement surrounding the California Gold Rush!
